Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) was founded on the values of collaboration, stewardship, excellence, dignity and justice. Consistent with these values, CHW fosters innovation by developing and promoting inventions and methodologies that are of value to the local or the global community. CHW's Intellectual Property Office protects and manages CHW's commercially viable inventions and innovations that will ultimately create a brighter future for healthcare and works with parts and affiliates to promote creativity.
CHW Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer area function connects discoveries and the marketplace. While conventional licensing arrangements allow non-profits to contribute technology and expertise to other organizations, CHW entertains alternative structures when and as appropriate. Success is defined not just in a revenue stream, but also by moving creativity born within CHW outside of its walls to further CHW's mission of providing affordable quality healthcare to those in need.
Our success, in part, comes from responding to business relationships individually and uniquely, realizing that no single model will always be effective.
